"Mille-feuille of knowledge” chair

  • A chair made out of paper and books lying around the house, each of them pasted on top of each other creating hundreds of layers of your intellectual collections

AHA glove

The AHA glove enhances the user's tactile sense through the Tactile Contact Lens, a research by the Touch Tech. Lab., Nagoya Inst. of Technol., Aichi, Japan

Its design resembles a fiddler crab (シオマネキ)

Telegran

Selected for Global Grad Show 2016 (Dubai Design Week 2016)

Telegran is a device that acts as a private video sharing platform between grandparents and grandchildren. By sharing skills, stories and knowledge through videos we aim to make grandparents-grandchildren communication more comfortable.

Telegran consists of two items; a photoframe and a pair of glasses. The photoframe sits inside the grandparents house, and helps to record videos through extremely easy steps. The glasses are used when recording more detailed tasks, such as cooking or drawing.

Selected for SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON LOVE AND SEX WITH ROBOTS

Media coverage on BBC, Mirror, Future of Sex, etc.

Teletongue is a pair of interactive lollipops. Using the microphones, vibrators and touch sensors concealed inside the lollipop, the user can send the sound and the movement of their "lick" to the other lollipop.

Mono Coto Innovation Workshop Tools
August 2016

Selected for GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2017

Mono Coto Innovation, produced by Curio School is a design innovation contest for middle and high school students.

While many similar contests merely provide programs for students to only pitch their ideas, Mono Coto Innovation goes much further, allowing them to prototype their ideas with professionals and go through a series of iterations.

As a contract design engineer I

  • created the scoring system for judges with PHP and Google Drive API [GitHub link]
  • designed the props / layout of each venue for the 2016 contest
  • developed workshop tools (see Facilii.com for details)

Peeking Table is a device for classrooms to encourage collaboration.

With the recent rise of the usage of tablets in class, I felt that it is becoming difficult to collaborate during class.

By using Peeking Table, students can "peek in" to each other's screens and collaborate even amidst the usage of computers or tablets.

Whitebox
August 2016

Exhibited at SXSW EDU 2018

Exhibited at The 10th International Conference On Educational Data Mining

Whitebox is a device that sheds light on the "blackbox" group work process.

Using Kinect V2, Whitebox keeps track of the conversation ratio, posture, handgesture and the talking volume of group work participants, and analyzes the content of the discussion through Google Cloud API.

By making group work evaluation easier and more accurate, I hope that more and more shcools will adopt group work styles and strive for more flexible, creative education.

Since the prior design was giving mixed messages about the functions of the space, we especially paid attention to color, material and circulation of users, and designed a new studio where users can feel free to create and make it dirty.

The Spotify Wig

The Spotify Wig is a wig that turns into a punk hairstyle when you listen to loud rock music on Spotify.

It uses the Spotify Web API to collect the genre of the song you are playing, and activates the Bio Metal Fibers on your wig through Arduinos when you are listening to loud rock music.

And it glows in the dark.

The Awakening - 目覚めたうんちはどこへ行く? -

The Awakening is an experiment to see what happens if poop comes alive and has its own will.

The crawling mechanism is based on the kirigami skin soft actuator robot by Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). It uses a custom made silicone rubber tube as an actuator, powered by an air pump and a solenoid valve.

The poop skin is a toy purchased from Amazon.

A Chrome extension to destroy the meaningless web tests in Japanese job hunting.

SPI、玉手箱、TG-WEB、GAB・・・日本の就職活動には、こうしたWEBテストがつきものだ。

ほとんどの学生は、このWEBテストを集団で受け、頭のいい人にお金を払ってでも参加してもらい、文殊の知恵で互いを支え合う。 有名大学の学生達はエクセル形式の答えを代々受け継ぎ、設問の最初の数文字を検索して答えをそのまま入力する。 もっと言えば、解答自体ネット上で売っている。

何の意味もないことを分かっているのに、企業も学生もしょうがないからこの茶番を続ける。こんなの、人間がやることじゃない。

ということで、webテストの設問を答えの中から自動で検索してそれっぽい答えが見つかればそのまま選択肢を選んでくれるGoogle Chrome Extensionを作りました。 受験者は、WEBテストの画面に行って、Chrome Extensionをぽちっと押すだけ!あとは勝手に解答してくれます。 (解答が見つからなくてもランダムでとりあえず何か選択します)

【注意】実際のwebテスト環境でテストするのが鬼面等くさかったので、 とりあえずTG-WEBの模擬試験が受けられるこちらのサイトで使えるように作ってあります。 「実際の環境でテストしてないなら使えなくね?」 「SPIってChrome使えなくね?」 とかいう疑問が生じるのは当然ですが、その前に、こんなくそみたいなやり方でもひょっとしたら受かるかもしれないテストを就活生が受けなければならない日本の就職活動が早く変わればいいなと思い公開しています。 いずれはChrome Web Storeにあげるかもしれませんが、とりあえずソースコードは全てgithub にあるので、自由に試すなり修正するなりして使ってください。実際のwebテスト受けるには就活生である必要があるので、プログラミングが得意な就活生の人は勝手にソースコードいじって本当に使えるもの作ってくださいな。

一日でも早く、こんなwebテストがこの世から無くなりますように。

By applying face recognition to the face drawn on the stomach, it generates music from the position of facial parts.
